Durk Dehner est l archiviste de Tom; il nous a fourni les uvres originales qui composent ces livres. Il est né à Alberta, au Canada, où il a étudié l art avant de s installer aux Etats-Unis au milieu des années 1970. Dehner a largement contribué à faire sortir Tom de la confidentialité communautaire et à attirer l attention du public sur son uvre. En 1984, les deux hommes ont créé la Fondation Tom of Finland, aujourd hui encore dirigée par Dehner depuis Los Angeles.
